What the Ultimate Edition adds

  • Confirmed Ultimate adds 16 bonus items, including vehicles, weapons, outfits and mod shops. Rockstar Support
  • Confirmed Rockstar names the '95 Grotti Cheetah and the Rideout Customs Mod Shop as examples. Rockstar Support

Rockstar hasn't published the full list of all 16 items. We'll add it once it does, or once we've seen them in-game.

Upgrading from Standard to Ultimate

  • Confirmed Standard owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately, at any time, on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store. Rockstar Support
  • Confirmed There's no physical Ultimate Edition. If you buy the physical Standard Edition, you can add the upgrade digitally. Rockstar Support

Rockstar's support page doesn't list the upgrade's price. Check your console's store before you buy.

Physical copies: a download code, not a disc

  • Confirmed Physical copies contain a download code. In Rockstar's words, "A disc will not be included in the box." Rockstar Support
  • Confirmed Physical copies ship and are available for store pickup from November 12, 2026. Rockstar Support
  • Confirmed Codes redeemed before launch can pre-load from local midnight on November 12. Rockstar Support

So a boxed copy still means a full download. Leave room on your drive either way. Rockstar hasn't announced the file size.

Pre-order bonus: Vintage Vice City Pack

  • Confirmed The Vintage Vice City Pack comes with pre-orders and purchases of either edition made before November 20, 2026. Rockstar Support
  • Confirmed It includes a '55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. Rockstar Support

You don't need to pre-order to get it. Buying on launch day, November 19, still counts.

A free month of GTA+ (digital pre-orders)

  • Confirmed Digital pre-orders include one free month of GTA+, redeemable right away. It covers GTA Online perks and the GTA+ Games Library, which includes GTA V. Rockstar press release
  • Confirmed The PlayStation Store FAQ says the GTA+ month must be claimed by March 31, 2027. PlayStation Store

Confirmed The GTA+ month is a digital pre-order bonus. Rockstar lists physical pre-orders as a game code plus the Vintage Vice City Pack, with no GTA+ month. Rockstar Support

Region locking

  • Confirmed PlayStation codes are region-locked. Xbox codes aren't. Rockstar Support
  • Confirmed Rockstar recommends buying from a retailer in the same country as your console account. Rockstar Support

If you're on PS5, don't buy a cheap code from another country's store. It may not redeem on your account.

Which edition should you buy?

This part is our opinion, not Rockstar's.

  • Most players: Standard. It's the same game. The Ultimate extras are bonus items, and you can add them later if you want them.
  • You want a box on the shelf: physical Standard. Just know it's a code, not a disc, and it doesn't come with the GTA+ month.
  • You know you'll want the extra cars and mod shop on day one: Ultimate. It's digital only, so buy it from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store.
  • Not sure: wait. The Vintage Vice City Pack is yours with any purchase before November 20, so there's no penalty for buying on launch day.
